1st Case- [Accidental Video]

[At first, the only thing shown on the video is a clear sky with grass surrounding the lens. The wind blows gently, causing the grass to sway slightly.

A moment later, the grass shifts around and a blue haired girl appears, obviously not in her normal outfit. She takes a look around]

Where...where am I?

[She carefully stands up, now her pale legs only seen on the camera] The mountain range in Inaba perhaps..? [Before the young girl is able to take a step forward, a small cry of pain comes from her and she collapses on her knees, her hand gripping her shoulder.

A pair of small, dark blue wings appear behind her for a moment, giving a slight flap before disappearing behind her back again. It takes a few moments before the girl is able to finally relax again, her hand sliding off her shoulder]

Wings...? ....Am I dead? ...No that couldn't possibly be right. Once one is dead, there is supposedly no pain, yet I can feel it.

But where is my uniform? [she stares at the white dress, playing with the straps for a moment] I don't remember ever purchasing this dress nor do I remember changing into it.

[The blue haired girl finally looks straight at the camera, reaching forward to grab the journal.] A journal? This could prove to be useful.

If I'm here it's possible the others are as well. I must find them as fast as possible.

Weapons are at the blacksmith, I'll get you there too if you want.

[He nods as she excuses herself and even turns around. Sure, she has gone behind a tree but still, he's not going to just stand there and stare at it. It's just a small, pointless gesture, but despite how much of an idiot he can be even Keiichi knows when someone isn't in situation to deal with jokes and such.

He turns around when he hears her coming out and smiles.]

You know, it doesn't look that bad. The dress almost isn't noticeable.

If it wouldn't be too much trouble.

[She fidgets a little. Naoto isn't exactly used to wearing another boy's clothes but still thankful it's not a skirt or a dress.]

They are a bit big though they will suffice for the time being.

[Keiichi rummages in another bag he was carrying, offering her a sandwich and a vacuum flask.]

It's not trouble at all, I wouldn't offer otherwise. And there are tons of clothes at the store, even if yours aren't there I'm sure you will be able to find something that suits you better.

Anyway, here, eat something. I hope you like warm tea, it may not be the best combination but it should help you regain warmth. We will go once you're done.

[She takes the sandwich and the flask. Food, clothes and coming to find her himself. How is she going to thank him]

Anything that isn't a skirt or dress will be suitable for me.

Thank you. [Naoto begins to eat the sandwich and sits down on the grass since it obviously isn't the best idea to try and pour tea when you're standing up and holding a sandwich]

[Keiichi sits down too, it would be awkward to remain standing up after all.]

Then you won't have problems, I'm pretty sure there are tons of clothes that aren't skirts or dresses. There's even a special clothing store, a friend runs it, you can basically even make special requests if you can't find what you want anywhere else.

Say, has anyone told you about the guide?

[Naoto places he sandwich on her lap as she opens the flask and pours herself some tea, admiring the aroma for a moment before sipping it.]

If I'm unable to find my original clothes I will be sure to look into that special clothing store.

[Once she finishes her tea she places the cup back on the flask and takes another bite of her sandwich]

[He nods.]

Yeah, some of the oldest residents here organized it, it's a good way to get a hold of the basis of Luceti. Lend me your journal for a moment and I'll settle it so you can find it easily.

[She nods and hands over her journal before finishing off the last small piece of her sandwich]

Thank you. I'm sure the guide will prove to be very helpful.

[Give him a minute as he gets her journal for easy access to the guide. He also adds the locked guide and the last locked message that was generally relevant. He then returns it to her.]

There, you should have no problems to get to the guide now, it's at the start of the journal, followed are two messages, we could call them extra information. They are special though, they come from a source that the Malnosso don't know about so try to keep quiet about them unless talking in person with someone. After all the journals are tracked by the Malnosso.

[She waits patiently for him to finish then takes it, reviewing what he placed in her journal.]

I see. I will be sure to not speak of it through the journal then.

Anyway, besides that, you can filter things through the journals normally to a certain person or persons. I think those filters are still watched by the Malnosso but, they come handy if you want a private conversation this way.

That will become a useful tool as well. Though being monitored constantly by the Malnosso will become troublesome.

[She hands Keiichi the flask back]

It certainly is, but I suppose it makes sense if we're supposed to be test subjects. What kind of scientist doesn't pay attention to the rats running in the maze?

[Keiichi places the flask inside the bag again and stands up, offering her a hand to help her to stand up again.]

Well, if you're ready, how about we get you to the village now?

That does make sense.

Thank you. [She takes his hand and gets back up, brushing her pants off]

All right, shall we then?

[He nods and starts leading the way.]

This river is the shortest one, by the way, it leads to the smallest lake in the area if you go the opposite direction. But to get to the village you have to go this way. It's not really too long of a walk, but at first it may seem that way if you aren't used to walk a lot.

[She follows him]

I see. Are there only forests and grasslands around this area?

Yeah, there is a mountain chain and beyond it a beach and an ocean. But that's all there's, the village is the only civilized place as well.

[Aside from a couple of houses near the lakes.]

This is all within the barrier, correct? Do you know where the Malnosso can be found?

If anyone had any idea on where to find them I don't think we would still be here. Or at least not as peaceful as we kind of are.

I think they are outside the barrier, personally, but at the same time I do assume they may have a way to enter it. There are no cameras or the like around so it's unsure how they do surveillance.

I suppose that's true. I'm guessing when one is kidnapped they're unable to see where they're taken to.

Regarding surveillance, it's possible they use the camera on our journals as a way to see inside, even if we aren't purposefully recording at that time.

I got kidnapped once, but I remember nothing from it. When I returned my head hurt, like when you wake up from having been sedated. And was wounded but, yeah, can't remember a thing, the droids knocked me unconscious when they got me.

The journals do happen at times to record even when we don't intend to. But if that's the case, keeping them closed should suffice to keep them in the dark, but I think it does nothing.

You were kidnapped once before? Hm....And you couldn't remember anything while you were held captive?

Keeping them closed would only be a temporary solution to keeping the Malnosso blinded. The journals are used for communication so I doubt we would keep them closed for too long.

Shortly after my arrival here, in fact, but it hasn't happened again. And no, I can't remember anything, as I say I remember the droids getting me, I lost consciousness and when I woke up I was here again, just being a mess which I wasn't before I was taken.

That's true, not to mention that if they truly just use that to keep an eye on us it would be blatantly obvious that something is going on if suddenly everyone keeps them closed. I think they must use something else, like the bar-codes behind our necks or something, maybe we just can't see the cameras they really have around. All that shifting thing sounds capable of doing that.

I see. They must have used a drug to keep you unconscious while they kept you, or its possible that if they used you for drug experiments, the effects could have been partial memory loss.

This is also true. I doubt they would only use one method to keep surveillance because of the possibilities of their cameras being destroyed or us finding out. The bar codes as you said could be one way but that may just be for other purposes.

I felt like shit when I returned so I don't discard any of those options.

Well, honestly I think the bar codes may be related to the journals. Or it's just a way to keep track on us when they kidnap us, I don't think they know our names except for when they make a draft list. And judging by their criteria I doubt they care about anything about us that doesn't fit their experiments.
