21st Case - [Written] - Foward-dated to the morning of the 4th

[ It's a weird feeling, deja vu is.

Standing in the doorway of what used to be Rise's room, Naoto staring in at the bareness of it. The bed is neatly made, no fluffy or frilly pillows resting around it, just white sheets and a single pillow. Everything the idol once possessed and stored in this room now gone. Accessories, pictures, books, clothes, you name it, all gone.

It felt as if Luceti just wiped the girl off the face of the earth. Like she was never even here. That every moment Naoto spent with her here was a lie. Much like when Souji left.

Naoto doesn't panic as the reality of the situation sets in nor does she cry. Instead, she closes the door to the unoccupied room quietly, and walks away from it, sitting herself down on the couch while Kuzunoha stays behind and stares at the door sadly, waiting for his playmate to come out and scream at him.

It takes her a good thirty minutes to pick up the journal, but when she does, she almost decides to try a filter, to try and deny what she knows what's really going on, but she resists. What would the point be? She knows it would break. So she pulls out her pen, in fear that her voice may crack if she speaks, and writes: ]

Rise Kujikawa has been sent home. [ ...She stares down at her own message and frowns, the tears finally well up in her eyes. It's going to be so much quieter without Rise around. Without her best friend. ]

[Lucky for naoto and Kuzunoha, Roxas left Nea the cat back at his house. He'll reach a hand in through the door first, patting the dog on the head before letting himself step into the apartment. It's definitely obvious that Naoto's really upset and that she's been crying, and to be completely honest he feels terrible about it. He'll shut the door and cross the room toward her. Normally he would assume a person would hug another person to comfort them on their loss, but he's not sure that's a good idea at the moment. Instead, he just stops shortly before her.]

...everything's gone?

[Well since he gave Kuzunoha since attention, he's just going to follow him over as he walks over to Naoto and sit right next to her.

She does her best to wipe her face off with her sleeves and nods] Everything.

Man...not good. [He's tempted to go wander, to go see for himself, but he's still rooted to the spot.]

What are you going to do now?

...What should I do? [Half talking to herself and half asking Roxas.

She really has no idea where to go from here. Well, more like she's not all there at the moment. The suddenness of this has thrown her off.]

Well...think she's going to come back soon?

You know it's impossible for anyone to determine the likelihood of a return of someone who has been sent home.

[That being said, she does hope she comes back soon.. ]

I know. [A heavy sigh. He definitely knows. It's been months now since he's last seen Axel and Sora.]

...come on. Let's go take Kuzunoha on a walk and think this over.

Alright. [Then she'll whistle to Kuzunoha as she starts to walk to the door so he follows. Luckily he doesn't need a leash since he sticks pretty close to her]

[Roxas follows after girl and dog, heading outside and walking with the two of them out of the apartment.]

He doesn't seem too bothered, does he?

Surprisingly, he has been affected by her disappearance. Before you arrived, he had been sitting in front of Rise-san's door and waited for her to come out. [It was pretty pathetic really, just watching him be like that. She stuffs her hands into her pockets with a frown]

Did they get along really well?

I wouldn't say that. Rise-san had a fear of dogs--cynophobia. Though for the past few weeks, I had been attempting to teach her out to overcome that fear.

What's so scary about dogs?

Depending on the dog, there are few qualities I can see that can be feared though phobias such as that are usually connected to childhood memories or perhaps a traumatizing event.

[Kuzunoha barks at them.]

[Tempted to bark back, this one is.]

Kuzunoha doesn't seem to be that bad though.

It doesn't usually matter if one particular dog happens to be harmless, the general impression that the person first got of a dog pertains to them as a whole.

Maybe when Rise comes back we can help her fix that fear.

...Maybe. [The small smile she had going for a moment fades.]

...it's going to be okay. I promise.

I have no doubt that it will be. I just can't help but feel... well. Sad, I suppose is the best way to describe it.

I don't blame you. I felt the same way when Axel and Sora left, remember?

Of course I remember. [How could she not? She was so worried about him when he just ran off and she couldn't find him for hours]
