10th Case - [Voice]/[Action] - Backdated to June 20th

[There isn't much to hear when the journal first turns on just the wind blowing and the soft rustling of the grass surrounding it. Eventually a familiar voice comes up on the other end of the journal, though it's quiet]

...I'm...alive...[a pause] ...why...?

[Action]

[It's been a few hours since the fight between Naoto and Vanitas ended so it's around evening time now.

If anyone happens to come across Naoto, in the forest to the west of the village, she'll be sitting up and leaning against a tree instead of lying on the ground like she was before. With her body as sore as it is, it's relatively difficult for her to move very far.

The blood staining her left side continues to come from the obvious gash in her shoulder though not as badly as before. She's looking up towards the sky and two nice little bruises can be seen on both sides of her jaw from the pressure Vanitas was applying there to knock her out.

Her hat also seems to be missing, probably blew off while she was out cold. Perhaps you'll find it on the way to her?]

[Please don't bleed to death. Her voice drops a little in volume, but her fury is still pretty evident.]

I'm heading there right now.

[And here's to hoping that she doesn't stumble into Vanitas on the way or something. Ooh-er.]

[Oh man, is she going to get scolded for doing this or what. Well she had it coming]

Alright...[Don't run into Vanitas, he has a gun now]

[If she gets shot, it'll be all Naoto's fault. :(

Unlike the last time she mounted a tiny rescue mission for Naoto, though, Rise's not going to be talking much on the way to wherever she is; the wind's pretty bad so just like how most of what she can hear of Naoto's side is the wind, Naoto will be hearing the wind as well as she moves. Because she's angry and worried and-- damn it, Naoto, she doesn't want to cry so often either.

At least it's still bright out.

Which is to say-- timeskip, and she'll speak again once she's at the edge of the forest and having summoned Kanzeon (the bad thing about this Persona? It clearly isn't as mobile as everyone else's. Her voice is louder, so that Naoto can hopefully hear her as she picks her way through.]

Tell me if you can hear me, okay?

[Wait what, why is it her fault? D8

Naoto's hanging on the edge of consciousness and sleeping so it takes her a moment for her to register the fact that Rise is talking to her. She lets out a 'mm' noise as if to say yes]

[Because it's her gun! B(

She notes that mm, replies it with an mm of her own and advances, being sure not to trip on any tree roots. This is why she doesn't wear heels when running through the village, see. Naoto, Naoto...]

How are you feeling?

[But she didn't even expect him to take it or anything D8!

How does she feel? Tired, sore, cold, there are a few ways to describe it but what's a good word to say all of that?]

...Numb...

...I see. [When she'd made her earlier scan, there'd been that intense feeling of discomfort-- not unlike when they were facing off against the more powerful shadows and someone had just been hit by a near-fatal attack. But wait, what's that? She bends down to pick up the familiar hat, almost hidden in the undergrowth.

...why would Naoto forget her hat?]

Is your hat with you?

[Hat? Huh...well now that she realizes it, her hat isn't on her head anymore. Could it have blown away or been knocked off during the fight? Either way her answer is going to be the same]

...I think I found it.

You mustn't be very far then...

[The wind shouldn't have blown it that far. She rubs her eyes in an attempt to get her clear vision back and looks around for Rise] ..Say something loudly..

[Picking up the hat and brushing the dirt off...]

Can you hear me now?

[Okay that she heard outside of the journal]

You're very close.

[All that voice training isn't for show, you know! Moving and looking around carefully now.]

You're not on a tree again, are you?

[She manages a chuckle]

No, I'm on the ground...

Good. I not sure if I could climb any--

[And here she steps round a tree and well, there's Naoto.]

--thing...?

I can't see you...as much of a climber...

[Why hello there blurry Rise]

You think? They made me climb stuff for ads before.

[And crouching down now to examine Naoto. She notes that gash and that blood, though-- thank goodness for summer and its non-failing light even in the evening. Plus there's probably no use using Kanzeon at this point-blank range.]

Are you in pain? Does it hurt anywhere?

Did they?

[She watches the blur kneel down next to her and rubs her eyes again, trying to clear her vision.]

Everything hurts...[Being thrown against a tree doesn't exactly feel good]

...you're bleeding.

[Didn't those medical dramas sometimes mention internal injuries? And how fatal they were? She pauses for a moment and draws back to pat her pockets for something. It's now or never.]

Vanitas struck my shoulder...

[Her hand moves over the wound, the wet feeling under her fingers telling her it was indeed still bleeding but her attention is drawn back to Rise when she notices her looking for something]

[There's a pause at Vanitas' name. It lasts for barely two seconds, though, as she continues her search. It has to be here somewhere...]

You got into a fight with him.

[No Rise, she had tea time with him]

I did...

Why?

[THERE WE GO. She pulls out a vial of red powder.]

I couldn't let him get away...with hurting Sora-kun...

[Oh, a red blur now. Wonder what that could be?]
